Toward this goal, my partner and I publicly share a view into the economy of our household. Together, we have been keeping track of our budget since we started living together in 2015 in an effort to share our finances fairly. Below, I've built a few charts that pull data from our budget to present a record of our financial decisions.
Household Income/Expenses
This graph summarizes how our quarterly income and expenses have changed over time.
Expense Breakdown
This graph breaks down our expenses by category. You can hover over the legend to highlight one category at a time.
Income and Expense Split
Finally, this graph breaks down the share of our household income and expenses that I'm responsible for. This is tracked cumulatively over the lifetime of our cohabitation. Ideally, we'd like our expense split to match our income split.
