Actually shipping veg all over could be _better_ for the planet in the long run. Humans are smart enough to optimize our food production around the world in a way that minimizes habitat and biodiversity loss. That could mean that we grow more in different places and ship it using sustainable transportation. But the math just doesn't work out for meat production and the biophysical limits of our planet. Meat has to be reduced to just a tiny fraction of what we eat today.
