I was working detasseling corn at 12. That work for half the summer absolutely stymies the average person's chances to get ahead and go to the best colleges. You probably didn't get as far in life as you could've because your situation made you do that while suburban kids were going to robot camp. And they only do it because no adults would do that work for that wage. Child labor is bad, and hurts us all. Can't believe I have to say that.
