The working class is certainly exploited. Let's dive into how. When that public spending (or any spending) is spent, who is doing the work to "help omit suffering?" The answer: Working people are all the people who work to create the goods and services needed by society. But they don't just work for other working people. They also work for two other groups: 1) those who cannot work (disabled, elderly, children, mentally ill) 2) a capitalist ownership class who do not work, but who receive a share of profits, which allows them to purchase the fruits of the workers' labor. Because a working person does not have a realistic choice but to work for these capitalist owners, they are forced by necessity into a situation of exploitation.
