Reading your prompt I just had a very specific thought that I thought could look awesome. Imagine one of our cities with a subway becomes partially flooded underground as sea levels rise. The water comes in through the tube as the tide comes in and then back out. Retrofitting giant hydro power turbines in the subway could look awesome.
