I'd chime in that I really resonate with the 'bad vibes' idea. I'd phrase it another way, there are intrinsic ramifications of reinforcing such a sadistic act for the pleasure of the crowd. The people who witness such an act would probably be more likely to commit more bad actions in their regular life.
