Yeah, I kind of oversimplified that. I took two 24 V and put them in series to try to get as close to 54.2 V as possible without going over. But since the output of the panels is highly variable depending on conditions, I'm using a boost charge controller to boost it to exactly 54.2, and the controller tries to get the current as high as possible without losses. Getting them close to 54.2 is just important for the efficiency of the controller, the farther it has to boost the voltage the less efficient.
