I believe that it isn't semantics because capitalism is a system with serious drawbacks, but a large portion of the public is convinced that it must be supported because without it we wouldn't have free markets. If we can separate two correlated ideas then we can take the good and leave the bad. Maybe think of it like trying to understand the different parts of a grain of wheat so that we can refine higher quality flour.
